Culivo ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Culivo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. You may also sign in using Google or Apple, in which case we receive basic profile information from those services.
• Profile & Preferences: Dietary preferences, cooking skill level, cuisine preferences, and allergy information you provide during onboarding or in settings.
• User Content: Recipes you save, chat messages with the AI assistant, shopping lists, and any photos you submit for analysis.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, session duration, and actions taken. This can be disabled in Settings.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
• Crash Reports: If enabled, we collect crash logs and diagnostic data to improve App stability. This can be disabled in Settings.

Camera & Photos

When you use features like ingredient scanning or nutrition scanning, we access your device camera or photo library. Images are processed by our AI services to provide results and are not stored permanently on our servers unless you explicitly save a recipe or scan result.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
• Personalize your experience, including recipe recommendations and AI responses
• Process and respond to your AI chat interactions
• Generate personalized recipes based on your preferences and dietary needs
• Send push notifications (daily recipe reminders), if you have opted in
• Monitor usage patterns to improve the App
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database, cloud storage, and analytics.
• Google AI (Gemini): Powers the AI chef chat, recipe generation, and nutrition analysis. Your chat messages and uploaded images are sent to Google's AI services for processing.
• OpenAI: Used for recipe image generation. Recipe metadata (not personal data) is sent to generate images.
• Apple & Google Play: In-app purchase processing for premium subscriptions.

These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase services, which employs industry-standard encryption and security practices. We use secure storage for sensitive data like API keys and tokens on your device. While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Chat history, saved recipes, and other user content remain until you delete them or your account. You may delete individual recipes, chat histories, or shopping list items at any time within the App.

6. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & Update: You can access and update your profile information in the App's settings.
• Analytics Opt-Out: You can disable analytics and crash reporting in Settings > Privacy.
• Notifications: You can manage push notification preferences in Settings.
• Account Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
• Data Export: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
